About us
Support, inform and help relatives and caregivers of Alzheimer patients.
The Association of Relatives and Caregivers of Alzheimer's patients and other senile dementias of Tenerife (AFATE), is a non-profit Association, founded in June of 1995 under the direction of Don Isidro Rodríguez Castro, with the aim of supporting, informing and help both people with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, as well as their family members and caregivers.
Since its foundation, the Association has been struggling day by day to develop and achieve resources aimed at alleviating the overload of the main caregiver, a figure in charge of ensuring all the emotional, affective, social, economic needs, etc., that people diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, they need. These needs fall within the family environment, where they mostly develop and live together.

- Mornings: Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 13:30 p.m. / from 9:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m.
- Afternoons: Monday to Friday from 14:30 p.m. to 17:30 p.m.

Integral Attention Unit
Group therapeutic activity for people with Alzheimer's disease or other mild to moderate dementia, people with a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment and older people for cognitive training and on-time detection, which is complemented by activities to promote autonomy in children. activities of daily living, functional autonomy and communication, in the morning or afternoon, from Monday to Friday.
These Units are located in the municipalities of Santa Cruz (Nieves Martín Center, morning and afternoon hours), La Laguna (morning and afternoon hours), Guía de Isora, Adeje, San Miguel, Fasnia, Candelaria, El Rosario, Los Silos, Icod de los Vinos, Puerto de la Cruz and Los Realejos (morning and afternoon hours).
