Dr. Carlos Piñana Darias is a prestigious specialist in Ophthalmology; Bachelor of Medicine with the qualification of outstanding, by the University of Salamanca. He is also a Doctor in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca, with the qualification of Outstanding 'cum laude'; and has completed the specialization in Ophthalmology, at the Clinical Hospital of San Carlos in Madrid.
It should be noted that, throughout his long career, he has combined his care work with teaching, being Professor of the subject of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, for more than 20 years, and Head of the Ophthalmology Service of the Dr. Negrín Hospital in Las Palmas.
He was President of the Canary Society of Ophthalmology for four years and has taught numerous courses for ophthalmologists, as director thereof, in Congresses of the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology. He has also authored numerous articles published in ophthalmological journals of recognized prestige, and has participated in many congresses and symposiums of national and international impact, with the presentation of papers and the collaboration in round tables on various ophthalmological pathologies.
