Today there is a great debate about the word “vegetarian" Although the dictionary is quite clear when it defines vegetarianism as: “diet based mainly on the consumption of plant products that it admitsOccasionally, the use of animal products such as eggs, milk, etc". Vegan, in turn, according to the dictionary, “that practices veganism”, this being the “attitude consisting of refuse food or consumer items of animal origin" This is what we know as a strict vegetarian, although many times this word is not put to good use.
A deeper look at the social, religious, philosophical, historical and political influences that have influenced the word and its use through the ages, leading to the conclusion that it has different meanings for people of different cultures.
The term vegetarian groups all meatless diets, which we can divide in turn as follows:
- Vegetarian Lacto: in addition to foods of vegetable origin, milk and milk products are included.

- Lacto ovo vegetarian: both eggs and dairy products are included.
