The future is here. Currently there are two basic orthodontic systems that are the invisible orthodontics known by the Invisalign as well as other houses, and the fixed orthodontics that would be that of the Brackets that can be in metal, in white, etc.
What is the future of invisible orthodontics?
The future of orthodontics lies in the way of working. Refering to odontology invisible measures and punctures are finished because now everything is done through scanners. The procedure consists of taking a scanner from the patient that is sent directly to the factory via the Internet and, from the factory, they process it and return it. After that, we study the case, we present it to the patient and if he is satisfied with the results that he is going to obtain in the end, the whole protocol is designed.
What is fixed orthodontics?
As for the fixed appliances currently the Brackets are standard, that is, each Bracket can be compared to an aspirin that has 500 mg dose and is placed where the professional estimates in the tooth. Although it depends on the design of the Bracket, the strength of the arch and where it is placed, each tooth gets the same amount of dose or strength. For this reason, during the entire treatment it is necessary to modify and correct the position of the Bracket to take it where we want. However, it will always be a standard mouth adapted to the situation of each patient, to their characteristics.
What is the future of fixed orthodontics?
The future of orthodontics in terms of fixed appliances means that we are going to customize it, that is, it will no longer be a standard orthodontics since each patient has a mouth with its peculiarities. The process is the same as for invisible orthodontics, therefore, a scanner is made from the patient's mouth, sent to a processing center next to the 3D image of his skull and we look for the ideal position for that patient. Then, they return it to us and the orthodontist sets the guidelines if they are correct or not for that treatment and, next, next to the patient it is assessed if that is the dream mouth.
On this occasion, what we are going to manufacture are brackets with different doses, that is, it is no longer an aspirin of 500 mg for each tooth but each tooth will carry its own. So we can go with less force, less damage and in a time that is half that in a conventional orthodontics to the desired position. This means half of appointments, less discomfort, less strength and, ultimately, a personalized and excellent treatment.
