The realization of blepharoplasty is indicated in those patients who suffer from excess skin or protrusion of fat bags that accompany the eyelids from a certain age. Many times that excess is determined by a genetic condition due to the inheritance of parents, grandparents, etc .; other times it is due to a laxity of the skin due to bad habits (tobacco, lack of sleep and generally overweight) or excessive sunbathing, for example.
When this excess of skin and fat bags is present due to the weakness of the tissues, the patient experiences significant discomfort and not only aesthetically but also visually because it sometimes occludes the visual axis, accentuating as the day progresses, worsening the symptoms and the discomfort.
When a patient is interested in having any surgery, it is mandatory to make a previous visit where the indication will be made and the necessary information will be given. Once the process is accepted, a series of preliminary tests will be carried out to verify that everything is correct. Hematomas may appear that will produce some local skin coloration during the first two weeks. After that time the residual bruises are not very visible. From the first week, patients can use concealer for dark circles or any other makeup that has been tested, which greatly hides said temporary coloring. All patients receive topical and systemic anti-inflammatory treatment as well as local antibiotics. Relative rest is recommended, advising them to defer sports for at least a week.
After two weeks of the intervention, the patient already feels a lot of comfort and an evident aesthetic change.
