It is desirable that our young people in whose minds and actions is the future of the region are aware that because they have great social contact they are the greatest spreaders of the virus and, if they are not vaccinated or do not want to be vaccinated, they have a high possibility of being infected with the Covid 19 DELTA virus and from infecting others.
The possible risks that young people have by not being immunized and catching Covid are the immediate consequences with their hospitalization and treatment, but there are others that manifest themselves once they are discharged and some remain long-term, for example respiratory difficulties, mental confusion for a time, loss of taste and smell. As well as symptoms of weakness and being young and having a strong immune system can trigger inflammation or other serious symptoms.
It is necessary to bear in mind that the more the coronavirus spreads, the more it mutates, which can cause new strains that cannot be fought with current vaccines. Ending this pandemic is not just getting vaccinated and controlling risks, it is getting vaccinated as soon as possible, and remembering that your role as young people is to responsibly assume your role as an active member of your community, to be an example as a positive footprint for the development and well-being of your region.
Here we leave you several information and recommendations of interest regarding Covid and our young population:
- Young and healthy people who are not immunized have a high incidence of contagion with the COVID 19 DELTA virus.
- Young and active people have greater contact and social interaction, which is why they are greater propagators of the coronavirus.
- To achieve the herd immunity that the countries want, it is required, at least to vaccinate between 70 and 80% of the population and it is required that young adults be vaccinated and therefore immunized.
- One risk for young people who are not immunized are long-term consequences, such as breathing difficulties, long-term mental confusion, loss of taste and smell.
- The more the coronavirus spreads, the more it mutates. If the mutations are significant, they could lead to new strains that cannot be fought with current vaccines. That would set the country back in this pandemic.
- Ending this pandemic is not just getting vaccinated. It is getting vaccinated as soon as possible, before the virus mutates into new strains that cannot be controlled with current vaccines.
- By getting vaccinated, young people can help more businesses reopen safely completely by increasing safety and reducing infections. That would also help young employees who have been hit hard financially.
Health and well-being is in everyone's hands. For a 2021-2022 school year free of Covid.
