In September the new school year begins and the "anti-COVID schools" have already established the health safety regulations. In Canary Islandsfor the moment, they will be in person.
Facing the beginning of new school year, many parents are wondering what the protocol y security measures in anti-COVID schools. Studying from home during quarantine has served to patent that children play a greater learning from their school. However, going back to school is something of great concern. You need a very careful plan to keep children and school staff safe.
Therefore, the Ministry of Education has already made a report detailing the protocol and the anti-COVID and hygiene security measures to be followed in the centers. Among the measures to prevent the coronavirus, under 10 years they will be able, together with their teachers, go without a mask. You can also give classes in the park y eat in the classroom.
Isabel Celaá, Minister of Education, discussed these measures together with the regional councilors last June, at the Education Sector Conference. It was established that in September all students can go to schoola maximum of 20 students per classroom. Also that it does not exist no safety distance between the little ones up to 10 years, and meter and a half in the majors. Finally, that the use of the mask in minors does not have this obligation.
Different Protests by educators and parents this last week, he has made the Ministry of Education meet again to indicate safer measures on face-to-face education. However, the measures established in June are maintained until further notice.
Important points about the protocol and security measures in anti-COVID schools to keep in mind:
- "Covid Team" in each educational center. A team made up of different representative members of the school, who guarantee compliance with the established safety regulations.
- Pandemic Lesson in the mornings. As if it were our father, the minors will begin a new subject, health education. It is important that they do not forget the sanitary security measures that must be followed.
- Stable groups of coexistence. This means that children from Infant to 4th of Primary must have a stable coexistence, without contact with classmates from other classrooms. In this way, the safety distance will not be mandatory. The older ones must maintain a distance of 1,5 meters.
- Classes in other spaces, like parks. With a maximum of 20 students per classroom established, the rest of the students will be relocated to other adapted spaces so that they can attend as normal. No criteria have yet been established on how to divide these students.
- Shifts to be able to play, leave and enter the center. With the idea of maintaining the coexistence groups, recess and playground hours will be established to ensure that students do not coincide with other classmates. Celiaá has also made it clear that the ball will be prohibited. In this sense, the inputs and outputs should be staggered.
- Hygienic masks. As established, the mask should be hygienic and ideally reusable. Communities must supply their centers. Also remember that most of it will not be mandatory.
- No meetings, no assemblies. In order to guarantee reduced spaces, face-to-face meetings cannot be held. Any sporting event within the center will take place as long as the capacity, the protocol and the anti-COVID security measures are maintained.
- Cleaning. The classrooms will be ventilated between 5 and 10 minutes at the beginning, between classes and at the end of the day. A disinfection will be performed whenever the group is changed. The bathrooms will be cleaned three times throughout the day.
