Currently a series of factors are influencing and questioning the sustainability of the National Health System. We talk about factors socio-economic, demographic y technological are creating this debate. Urge the need to look for instruments that contribute to its sustainability.
Strategies for the use of ICTs in the health sector have been gaining ground in the health debate, perhaps because the health sector is one of the most complex that exists and this explains that it is adapting more slowly to this new environment compared to with other sectors.
It is currently estimated that 1.1% of Health investments in Spain are destined to the ICT, although desirable it would be that that number would approach 3%, as is the case in different European countries.

What is mHealth and why is it important for the health sector?
mHealth(Mobile Health) is the use of mobile devices in the health sector, regardless of whether you are a Patient, Medical Professional, Institution, Government or Company. At present there are already 13.000 mhealth apps in the apps stores. Taking into account that the vast majority, both of professionals in the health sector and of patients, have a mobile device, it is important in the health sector since doctors believe that the use of this can be very beneficial between the medical relationship patient.
The implementation of a strategy on Digital Health would have the potential to transform systems of health in more efficient, safe y equip them de services higher quality.
