Benefits of the future of implantology

The future is here. There is a new way of working in dentistry due to the great advances that have taken place in recent years. All of them have led us to a synergy in the new treatments that are going to be presented. We have several lines of work, the main ones are implantology, orthodontics, endodontics and a few others.

In the future of implantology there are two lines of work. On the one hand there is the conventional one, which is done in a manual way, an operation in which scalpels, points and many appointments are used to go to progress in the treatment. On the other hand, there is the most current technique, computer-guided surgery.

How is the future of implantology in three steps?

Currently from an 3D image that is obtained in it clinic we can process that image in which we see everything that is the maxillofacial area, roots, positions of teeth, missing teeth, etc., to plan through a computer what will be surgery.

Then we do a general scan of the mouth in which we not only have a real image of what the patient's teeth are, but we can also superimpose that image with the previous one obtained. This is sent to the laboratory and in a completely digital process, the laboratory makes us, before carrying out the treatment, the crown or the bridge that we are going to put this patient and a surgical guide for the placement of the necessary implants.

Once we have what it would be, as an example the picture we want to place on the wall we would have to put the block that will support that picture. In this case it would be the implant that goes ostointegrated. This implant is done through a template that we have requested through the laboratory planning program. He makes it for us and when the patient arrives, the only thing that needs to be done is to put the required anesthesia, present the template and through that template we place the implant.

What happens after implant placement?

Once the implant is placed in three steps, the template is suppressed, a closure for healing is placed and the patient goes home. There are no more appointments until it is decided to place the prosthesis once the implant has been osteointegrated.

This is the progress of what will be the future in implantology: planning, treatment in a single session and placement of the prosthesis.
