Do we know which foods are better for our health?

What is a biosimilar

Processed foods are foods that undergo any deliberate change that occurs in the processing of these before being available for consumption. Processed foods they are very present in our diet but they are less nutritious than fresh or natural foods.

Differences between one and the other

As mentioned above the big difference from one to another It is the industrial processing unlike natural foods that do not involve any change or alteration in the product from its origin to the final objective: consumption.

Types of processed foods

  • Foods that have been seen affected by some technological process, such as frozen or already cooked foods (canned food, frozen vegetables)
  • Food that incorporate certain additives that alter or improve His properties in order to enhance its taste or appearance, such as sweeteners, dyes and preservatives.
  • Foods suitable for immediate consumption that have undergone a high level of processing, like cookies, sweets, chips chips, cereals, sausages ...
  • Highly processed foods like pizzasfrozen and others dishes ready to microwave.

Most common chemicals added in processed foods

  • Preservatives
  • Flavors
  • Dyes
  • Texturizers

Advantages and disadvantages of processed foods

Advantages: the ease of preparation, ideal for people who do not know or do not want to cook.

Disadvantages: the change in the nutritional composition that food undergoes by ceasing to be a fresh and natural product. Many lose food fiber; others, the aqueous content so that its caloric density increases.

Where do we find them?

  • Soft Drinks
  • Processed meats
  • Cookies, cakes, muffins.
  • Salad dressings
  • French fries
  • Canned food
  • Margarines
  • Packaged sausages

How can they affect our health?

We cannot claim that they are fatal to our health or beneficial. There is one very important thing that we must keep in mind. We cannot base our diet on processed foods  since with its abuse we would seriously harm our body.

These foods are full of unhealthy additives and high sugar levels. They are a serious inconvenience for those people who want to lose weight.

We must consume them in moderation and combining their presence in the diet with fresh and natural foods as well as a healthy lifestyle.

"It is key nowadays to know how to read the labels when we are going to make the purchase"

And you, which ones do you consume more?
