In Sexual Medicine we understand man as a sexual being in two facets:
From the time a child becomes an adolescent to an adult, sexual problems can arise. These problems are studied and treated by specialists in Sexual Medicine. Later, when it comes time for sexual intercourse, there may be another series of problems that we analyze and address. Finally, in the decline of life there may be some flaws in sexual performance that we study and treat.
Depending on the stage of life, certain sexual problems may arise. In the first stage there may be problems with development, manifestations of sexual orientation, sexual orientation, sexual preference or sexual assignment. Later, once this is established, there may be problems in the sexual relationship when relationships are established.
In the male part, erectile dysfunction is statistically the most frequent pathology of consultation. Secondly, there are the problems of the appearance of the penis: If it is incurved, if its covers are exaggerated or inadequate and, of course, if this causes discomfort or alterations in sexual relations.
There are also sexual problems in orgasm and ejaculation problems. This may be because it is too short, too premature or too late or impossible to achieve.
Finally, in the third stage of life, when some functions deteriorate with age, sexual deterioration may also appear (called by some andropause). In this case, we attend to the patient and try to reestablish the quality that he has lost in the performance of his sexual function.
