What is vaginal laxity?

Is the pérdida o decreased tension in the vagina and it brings with it many functional and psychological problems that can damage the sexual life of women.

How is vaginal laxity diagnosed?

For vaginal laxity there are methods that measure the intravaginal pressure. Also, there are methods to know the capacity and the contraction time of the vagina. However, the fundamental diagnosis falls on the opinion specifically of each woman in relation to the feeling she feels when she contracts her vagina. That's why there are some authors who do not call it vaginal laxity but wide vagina sensation.

How is vaginal laxity treated?

There are conservative treatments such as pelvic floor rehabilitation with quite satisfactory effects. However, there are also surgical treatments such as vaginoplasty They tend to decrease the diameter of the vagina and improve the feeling of a wide vagina that has a lot to do with pelvic floor disorders such as postpartum, gestation, etc. There is also apart from the surgical treatments a novel treatment that would be the CO2 laser.

What is the CO2 laser in vaginal laxity?

The laser using the fractionated laser pulses produces a thermal effect that increases the diameter of collagen y facilitates angiogenesis so that these muscles can work better. This results in the remodeling of the collagen fibers and thus in the recovery of shape and flexibility. The procedure provides immediate and long-lasting relief through painless, proven and non-surgical treatment. Virtually all patients feel improvement after the first session. It should be borne in mind that everything will depend on the collagen regeneration capacity that each woman has. The number of sessions will vary depending on the degree of laxity and on each patient.
