Cleaning the house in times of Coronavirus

  • Published by: Canary Doctor

It is recommended that one of the issues to which we must give more importance is how to eliminate Coronavirus from our homes.

The Ministry of Health reports that some scientists have published the survival time of COVID-19 on surfaces. Scientific experiments are conducted under highly controlled conditions of temperature and humidity. But beyond the results, hygiene at home is essential to prevent the spread of the virus.

In general terms, it is recommended to ventilate the rooms frequently (at least 5 minutes a day). Wash clothes without shaking and, whenever possible, use hot water. And in confirmed or suspected cases of coronavirus at home, follow the recommendations for home isolation.

What are the areas and areas of greatest interest?

The kitchen, bathrooms and all surfaces that are frequently touched must be disinfected periodically, in this sense special attention should be paid to:

  • Knobs and handles for doors, windows, drawers and cabinets.
  • Railings and handrails.
  • Switches, buttons, push buttons.
  • Elevator buttons.
  • Telephone, telephone.
  • Remote controls.
  • Touching surfaces of appliances, tables, chairs, and other furniture.
  • Taps.
  • Cookware.

How to proceed with the disinfection of our homes?

The recommendation is simple: Use soap and water (or a common cleaner), following these tips:

  1. Clean frequently.
  2. Wear gloves and cleaning clothes.
  3. Follow the directions on the labels and do not mix products.
  4. Use different cloths to disinfect.
  5. Wash and dry cleaning materials well.
  6. Always wash your hands when finished.

For surfaces that touch very frequently and in the bathroom, before cleaning with soap and water, you can disinfect by mixing 20 ml of bleach (3-5%) with 980 ml of water. Leave to act for 5 minutes and rinse with soap and water. You can also use authorized virulent disinfectants.

Let's not forget that information is the first resource that allows us to make informed decisions to take care of our health and prevent rumors and misinformation.
