IPL Photorejuvenation is an innovative technology that represents one of the most popular cosmetic treatments of recent times: IPL Photo Rejuvenation, is an intense pulsed light treatment for the face, neck and chest. IPL is the most effective treatment for skin redness and represents one of the best minimally invasive rejuvenation options on the market. IPL is also an excellent option for improving skin texture, reducing pore size, roughness, and age spots.

What facial concerns can be treated with IPL?

Medical lasers emit a band of light that usually treats a specific skin problem. The IPL rejuvenation system offers a wide band of pulsed light, making it a wonderful alternative that is minimally invasive and requires no downtime or downtime. After a treatment, most patients are able to return to their usual activities and can apply makeup immediately. The facial problems that IPL treats are:

  • Redness of the skin.
  • Sun damage.
  • Abnormal pigmentation (melasma and hyperpigmentation).
  • Irregular pigmentation, age spots, freckles.
  • Enlarged pores.
  • Rosacea.
  • Small facial veins.
  • Roughness and fine wrinkles.
  • Skin texture imperfections.

IPL is a safe, non-invasive solution that can be customized to your individual needs and will provide you with superior cosmetic results and high levels of satisfaction. After the first treatment, skin feels smoother and looks more even.

How many sessions are needed and how often?

A series of at least 5 treatments is needed for best results. Some patients may benefit from more treatments depending on the severity of the condition being treated. Treatments are given 4 to 6 weeks apart.

How is the protocol of an IPL treatment?

Each IPL treatment lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. Patients tolerate this procedure very well, which is completely painless. Before treatment, a cold gel is applied to the treated area and dark glasses are worn to protect the eyes from light.

During the treatment, you will hear a beep every time the machine is used. Afterwards, for a few minutes or hours, the skin may become red and appear irritated. The brown spots will actually be a bit darker at first. These initial effects usually go away within hours, but can sometimes last a few days.

What results can you expect from IPL treatment?

After IPL there is a gradual decrease in general redness and acne-like breakouts. Treated skin will become smoother with a reduction in fine wrinkles and pore size, as well as fading from sun spots or uneven pigmentation. Over time, the results are smoother, healthier, younger-looking skin.

Is IPL treatment safe?

IPL treatment is non-invasive and very safe. You can usually resume your activities instantly and apply makeup right away if you wish. On very rare occasions, temporary mild bruising or blistering may appear in the treated areas, which will disappear within a few days. The only thing that is contraindicated is sun exposure.

How do I know if I am a good candidate for IPL treatment?

If you dislike redness or signs of aging on the face, neck and décolleté; also if you want to maintain a youthful and healthy appearance, IPL is for you.

How to prepare for IPL treatment?

You should not tan in the areas to be treated! Avoid self-tanners for 2 weeks before your appointment. Treated areas should be clean and free of makeup.

What to expect after IPL treatment?

After the IPL treatment, your skin may be red for several hours. You may also develop a brown, freckled appearance, which looks like "coffee grounds." This occurs in areas of brown pigmentation and can last from several days to a week. After several sessions you will see a smoother, rejuvenated and luminous skin.
