Tenerife leaves alert level 3, while Gran Canaria and Lanzarote enter due to the increase in cases.

Last Saturday 16 the Government of Canary Islandsupdated the alert levels of the capital islands. Due to the increase in cases in Gran Canaria, the island has passed alert level three.

By contrast, Tenerife has passed alert level two. These measures take effect today and will last for 14 days. Lanzarote is also at alert level three since last Wednesday due to the increase in cases on the island. Fuerteventura remains at alert level two. La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro continue at alert level one to continue with the best epidemiological data.

What measures are included at each level to contain COVID-19?

ALERT LEVEL 1 (La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro):
- Limitation of free movement of people: of 00: 00 06h to: 00h.
- Maximum capacity in public or private spaces: 6 people, except cohabitings.
- Hotel and restaurant establishments: max 6p / table, closing before 00:00, maximum capacity (100% on the terraces and 75% indoors).
- Sports activity inside facilities and outdoors: maximum 6p / group, including monitor if 2m distance cannot be maintained. Maximum capacity: 75% in each stay. 


ALERT LEVEL 2
(Fuerteventura and Tenerife):
- Limitation of free movement of people: of 23: 00 06h to: 00h.
- Maximum capacity in public or private spaces: 4 people, except cohabitants.
- Hotel and restaurant establishments: max 4p / table, closing before 23:00, maximum capacity (75% on the terraces and 50% indoors).
- Sports activity inside facilities and outdoors: maximum 4p / group, including monitor if 2m distance cannot be maintained. Maximum capacity: 50% in each stay.
- Capacity reduced to 50% in public transport regular urban and metropolitan land.
- Hospitals and social health centers: limited visits under supervision of the center.

ALERT LEVEL 3 (Gran Canaria and Lanzarote):
- Limitation of free movement of people: of 22: 00 06h to: 00h.
- Maximum capacity in public or private spaces: only cohabitants, except for hotels and restaurants, with a maximum of 4p / table.
- Hotel and restaurant establishments: max 4p / table, closing before 22:00, maximum capacity (50% on the terraces and not allowed inside).
- Indoor sports activity of facilities not allowed and outdoors only individually, as long as you can keep 2m away at all times.
- Capacity reduced to 50% in public transport regular urban and metropolitan land.
- Hospitals and social health centers: visits and departures of residents suspended, unless necessary at the discretion of the physician or the center.
- Restriction of entry and exit of the island, except for just cause.
- The places of recreational activity of games and bets will remain closed.
